An artist needs a wide variety of Art brushes for the painting purpose. Different painting mediums need different types of brushes. Watercolor painting needs brushes of Squirrel, Sable & man-made fibers, whereas, for oil painting you need Sable, Hogs or Man-made fibers brushes. Wide selections of brushes are specifically made for the popularly used acrylic paints.

Natural brush is the first option of every artist. But these are generally rare and expensive. Natural-bristle brushes are manufactured from animal hair. They can hold more paint than artificial brush. China hog hair is considered to be the best in this category. It will be good to use natural-bristle or quality synthetic-bristle brush when using oil-based paint.

Artificial fiber brushes are usually used when you start painting. The reason behind this is that it will cost less to throw the brush away if it is damaged. However, you should use better quality brushes if you have good control on your brush and have good paint handling techniques. A great value of money will be offered with the use of best quality brushes as it produces quality work. The brush varies in shape and size according to the task chosen. For home use brushes come in flat, angled and round ended shapes.

The paint brush should be cleaned properly after use. These brushes last longer if handled carefully. It is better to use good quality brushes than spending on the cheap ones which does not give you quality work and also does not last for longer duration. To get the best result in your painting it is necessary to have the best material and good equipments.

You can inspect a good quality brush by spreading out the bristles and checking their tips. The handles of the brushes may be of plastic or of wood. To prevent the water from penetrating and loosening the bristles, wooden handles should be sealed.

By using different techniques of holding the brush you can often get new and amazing results in your paintings. Take good care of your paint brush so that they last for a longer duration. After using the paint brush wash it in clean warm water and rinse thoroughly. Spread them out in a tray so that they dry away quickly.

Before storing the brush don’t forget to reshape them so as to prevent damage to the bristles. When the brush is completely dried store it vertically in a jar. In this way you can take good care of your paint brush in order to get good results out of it.
